Learning Points:
After interviewing with Pest, I am able to find useful tips. The first one is the editing software, rather than just using Adobe Photoshop, and Lightroom, he uses VSCO, which is a photo editing software on the phone.
In Pest’s experience, when he was a beginner, equipment does affect the outcome of the quality. Still, experience and sense of sensitivity is the key to bring the best of the photograph. I think that is true as no matter how advanced or powerful your equipment is, your experience and sensitivity matter more.
According to Pest, a good photography portfolio is not about posing, deco, or any pre-planning photo, a photo captured in the right moment, right feeling and that happen naturally. Based on my understanding, the photo captured in the right moment can be utilised in wedding photography. For example, taking the parents crying if you missed that moment, you might not be able to take the shot again.
Lastly, his advice for the fresh graduates is to practice the sense of sensitivity, predict what happens next before you take a photo. Be patient and learn to communicate well, which I think is true. This is because taking a good photo need times to practice. Build your own Instagram portfolio.
